Special Event: Plant Something NH and Pollinator Fair at Mast Way School
A Celebration of Plants, Gardens and Pollinators!

Join Bedrock Gardens and our friends from Plant Something NH on Saturday, June 2nd from 10 to 2:30 pm as we share pollinator plant baby giveaways compliments of our friends at Van Berkum Nursery, Deerfield, NH.
Make & Take Activity
Families can also enjoy the free New England Native & Wildflower Seed Ball Make & Take activity, co-hosted by NH 4-H and Henniker Helping Hands 4-H Club.
Education Sessions
Plant Something NH steering committee member Jenny Stuart will also be onsite hosting fresh-air educational talks on Native Plants & Pollinators. No pre-registration is required, just join in the pollinator garden at Mast Way School for one the these informative garden walks. Jenny Stuart is owner of The Secret Gardener and holds a degree in Horticulture Technology. She is also a NH Certified Landscape Professional and a current student of the UNH Extension Master Gardener program.
Representatives of the NH Beekeepers and Seacoast Beekeepers Associations will be on hand with honeybee temporary tattoos, and a live observation hive to answer any questions you may have about bees, beekeeping and agriculture.
In addition, members of Slow Food Seacoast and Piscataqua Seed Project will be on hand throughout the day, giving away free heirloom seeds of the "Three Sisters" ( New Hampshire varieties of beans, corn and squash) that formed the basis for agriculture in our area for over 1000 years!
Unique plants dug from the magnificent Bedrock Gardens Nursery will also be for sale throughout the day. The mobile Bedrock Gardens Shed Shop will be set up at the fair.
Delicious fresh lunch and refreshment items catered by Mary Vs will be available.
This event is free, but donations are welcome.

Special Event: September 15... The Caterpillar Lab

Want to learn about caterpillars, with their extensive diversity, distinctive beauty, and fascinating metamorphosis? The Caterpillar Lab visits Bedrock Gardens, with its awe-inspiring live caterpillars, as seen at the Boston Museum of Science and the Boston Children’s Museum. Here is a review. And here is the caterpillar dance. It is a magical educational show. No additional cost except the donation to the garden on admission.
There will be a free Tour of the Garden held at 10:00 and at 1:00 led by an experienced and knowledgeable garden guide and plant person. A great way to learn about the garden.
There also will be a free Garden Art Tour held at 2 pm covering an overview of Jill Nooney's garden sculptures, including inspirations, materials used, recurring themes, some quotes from the artist, and a focused look at more than 30 individual pieces throughout the garden.
On Saturday boxed picnic lunches can be pre-ordered. Details and menu here.

Special Event: Month of September at Fabulous Find

The Fabulous Find, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization (listed under A Caring Community) is a boutique style resale shop at 139 State Rd. (Route One) Kittery, Maine, 207-439-8669, which partners with different, worthy local non-profit organizations each month. Bedrock Gardens will be one of the recipients of all profits donated the month of September. During the month of September your donation of gently worn or household items and your shopping purchases will help Bedrock Gardens get a bigger check in October. Over the last 8 years, the Fabulous Find has given out over $1,300,000 to over 150 local non-profits!
