FAIRY AND HOBBIT HOUSE FESTIVAL HIGHLIGHTS 2017

    Picture
    Fairies and fairy godmothers abound.

Fairy and Hobbit House People's Choice Winners
    First Place
    Mary Verzina of Milton NH,

Way to go, Mary. That hollow tree trunk really makes it!
    Below is the back side:

You make good chicken salad wraps, too!

    Second Place
    Nicole Hamilton of Milford, NH.
    Exquisite detail.
Nicky won second place last year as well!

    Third Place
    Catherine Reynolds of Rochester, NH.
This was the center of an environment... there was a path to it, and ancillary structures.
Catherine has volunteered here many hours, too.
    Neat, huh?

    Runner Up
    Melissa Kimball.
A zillion pieces of fairy glass were artfully hidden in this piece, and its companion pieces. You would have to see this live to appreciate the intricacy.

    The houses were remarkable:
Ranging from the small to sprawling:

Some build-your-owns took whole groups hours to complete, all helped out!

A personal favorite: I think the hag's face is brilliant, and the back was a multi-storied old-lady-in-the-shoe house.

But it is the People that Make It!

    Picture
First Lady of New Hampshire, Valerie Sununu, gave reading to enchanted woodland sprits.

    Picture
Tracy Kane, author of the Fairy Houses series, www.fairyhouses.com, was totally gracious to crowds of people, read from her books, and gave good advice to all comers.

And thanks to our wandering minstrel, Hazel Dellario. She was a sweetie...and played well too!

Great art, provided by painter Peggy Hepburn of Somersworth, NH:

And, of course, lots of fairies:

    ...to the young at heart.

Even the Earth Goddess was dressed to the nines.

    She needs no wings.
