Ethnobotanist and Director of Bedrock Gardens: Crafting herbal teas can be a process we can enjoy from seed to sitting back and sipping on a steaming cup of tea. Join us to learn more about the process of planting a tea garden, blending and preserving herbal teas from the garden, and hydrating with healthy, home grown alternatives. The program includes a garden tour and a visit to our farm stand shop. |
June 21 (Friday 1:30) Garden Therapy for Alzheimer's Patients and Caregivers with Lorraine Lee
A garden journey for the mind, body and spirit enlisting the trees, plants and soil to provide grounded garden therapy and well-being for all those suffering. Join us outdoors as we use plants and nature to help a variety of populations stimulate the senses and learn ways to help reach physical, psychological and cognitive goals. Bedrock Gardens is a sensory rich environment in a peaceful setting for a Horticultural Therapy session designed for individuals living with memory loss due to Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. You and a loved one will make small bouquets of fragrant herbs and flowers. This program is limited to 10 participants and their caregivers who will help make one bouquet together. |
July 19 (Friday 1:30) Healthy Nature Play for Kids and Family with Nanci Helton and John Forti
Explore the old farm and enchanted woods at Bedrock Gardens with your kids while doing your part to prevent ‘nature deficit disorder’! We will offer a fun environment for family learning and imagination as kids learn how to gather natural materials to build fairy houses. In the process, kids will learn how to build healthy bodies and habitats as we play “I Spy” for animals, bugs and plants as we explore the gardens. The program includes a garden tour and a visit to our farm stand garden shop. |
August 16 (Friday 1:30) Life in a Colony - Lessons from the Bee Hive with
Mary Ellen McKeen, VP NH Beekeepers Assn & BG beekeeper. Explore your hive mind, and how beekeeping, hives and honey can provide wellness, meditation and flavor to our lives. The program includes a garden tour, exploration of our Bedrock hives, honey tastings and a visit to our farm stand garden shop. |
September 20 (Friday 1:30) Grief Walk - Solace in a Garden with Deb Addario, MSW and Roz Novak-Houston, MSW - “Let me take you on my journey, I will ride while you walk” and let us take you on a journey through the garden. We will stop to catch our breath, to refocus and to feel a peace that so easily escapes us while learning new techniques that will assist you in slowing the mind from running wild and focusing on your losses. We will try to assist you in regaining new strengths, strategies and technique to deal with the loss and grief. The program includes a garden tour and a visit to our farm stand garden shop.

October 4 (Friday 1:30) Garden of Joy, Garden of Grief, Gardening of the Soul with Ann Tarlton
BG board member, master gardener and chaplain. Gardening of the Soul promotes emotional health and healing through the designing, planting and nurturing of one’s own small garden room. Preparing the soil, planting and then caring for one’s chosen plants can provide a quiet space for the nurturing of joy, as well as a quiet space for the shedding of one’s deepest tears, both of which are important aspects in the Gardening of one’s own Soul. The program includes a garden tour and a visit to our farm stand garden shop.
