VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT |

Nancy Cauvet
Stalwart Bedrock Gardens supporter catalyzed a new partnership so her neighbors (all of them) may visit Bedrock Gardens—even those who cannot make the journey on foot.
BG: Tell us about your love of gardening.
Nancy: “My life-long passion for nature and gardening led to a second career as a professional gardener in suburban NY. After we built a home in Newington, NH with an attached greenhouse, I joined several garden clubs to continue my education.”
BG: What drew you to volunteer at Bedrock Gardens?
Nancy: “I am a new volunteer at Bedrock Gardens but a long-time visitor. For many years, I visited during the four open weekends at Bedrock Gardens and delighted in the creative design, the whimsical sculptures and the imaginative horticultural borders.”
BG: Are there other volunteer roles you enjoy?
Nancy: "I have volunteered for many years with the UNH Marine Docents, the Great Bay Discovery Center, and serve on the Great Bay Stewards Board of Trustees."
BG: What’s an exciting project you’re working on?
Nancy: “Presently, I am co-chair of the RiverWoods-Exeter Garden Committee and a member of the Resident Council. I was happy to help facilitate a RiverWoods partnership with Bedrock Gardens to encourage residents of the Exeter and Durham communities to visit the Gardens.”
BG: Wow, that’s exciting. Will your role as a joint liaison grow?
Nancy: “Yes! My first new volunteer assignment is driving the accessibility golf cart. I look forward to sharing my love for the gardens with those who otherwise couldn’t enjoy this very special Eden.”
The Friends of Bedrock Gardens Board of Directors extend our sincere thanks to Nancy and the RiverWoods Group Team for bringing our organizations together to strengthen, and enrich our shared community.
